PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS
PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS
Sunday Worship Service – 10:00 am
Kimmels Church offers an in-person as well as live-streamed service at 10:00 am on Sunday morning. Adult and youth baptisms are held during our Sunday Worship Service hour. We believe that the New Testament baptism by immersion “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” is a symbol of our faith in the crucified, buried and risen Lord, and of our death to sin and resurrection to a new life. The nursery is also open for children up to 4 years of age.
Sunday Small Group Study
Adults, Teens & Kids - Every 1st & 3rd Sunday - 9 am to 9:45 am
All are invited to join us for our Sunday small group studies. We offer a combined class for adults and teens, as well as a class for kids ages K - 5th grade. Our adult and teen group is starting a new study on September 15th entitled Multiply. God wants disciples of Jesus to make other disciples of Jesus. Francis Chan, best-selling author and founding Pastor of Cornerstone Church, and David Platt, author and Lead Pastor at McLean Bible Church, provide this simple, practical, biblical, helpful, and personal resource to help us understand Scripture and give us the tools to disciple others. Our younger kids (K to 5th grade) are beginning a new study program entitled All Together Sunday School. This curriculum is designed to simplify the teachings of the Bible for everyday life, and help children have a deeper relationship with God.
Sunday Morning Book Study
Every 2nd & 4th Sunday - 8:45 am to 9:45 am
On September 22nd we are beginning a 10-12 week study of Colin Marshall and Tony Payne's book, The Trellis and the Vine. The class will meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, starting @ 8:45 am. As we'll learn, all Christian ministry is a mixture of trellis and vine. There is vine work: the prayerful preaching and teaching of the Word of God to see people converted and grow to maturity as disciples of Christ. Vine work is the Great Commission. And there is trellis work: creating and maintaining the physical and organizational structures and programs that support vine work and its growth. The image of the trellis and the vine raises all the fundamental questions of Christian ministry:
· What is the vine for?
· How does the vine grow?
· How does the vine relate to my church?
· What is vine work and what is trellis work, and how can we tell the difference?
· What part do different people play in growing the vine?
· How can we get more people involved in vine work?
In The Trellis and the Vine, Colin Marshall and Tony Payne answer these urgent questions afresh. They dig back into the Bible’s view of Christian ministry and argue that a major mind-shift is required if we are to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ, and see the vine flourish again. This book study is for everyone who desires to see God grow the vine in and through His church at Kimmels, and how they can be used by Him to accomplish the work. Much discussion will be given on how to “shift” our mindset from trellis work back to a biblical vine focus.
Wednesday Adult Study Group
Begins September 11th - 6:30 pm
Our Wednesday adult small Bible study, led by Jared Williams, is taking a look at 'A Slow Walk Through 1 John'. We'll learn about and discuss the theological concepts and state of the church of the time ... and how the teachings of 1 John not only help us as believers build fellowship with God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit, but also help to build fellowship with one another.

The Journey Discipleship Program
The Journey is a one-year, intentional plan for discipleship that provides a purposeful process for maturing in Christ. Throughout The Journey, both new and seasoned disciples will encounter key ideas and practices to help them grow in Christ and mature as disciple makers. You can participate as either a mentor (leading a group or person through the series), or as a disciple (being led through the series). The current Journey Program began in March and continues through February 2025.
