Adult & Teen Challenge
Adult & Teen Challenge offers Christ-centered, faith-based solutions for youth, adults and families struggling with life-controlling problems such as addiction. Residents learn how to change deeply entrenched, self-destructive behavior and how to acquire a new value system that honors family, takes responsibility for community, cultivates a positive work ethic, and helps them become productive, healthy members of society. Camp Orchard Hill
While at Camp Orchard Hill in Dallas, Pennsylvania, campers can expect traditional Christian camp activities designed to fit a variety of age groups. Camp Orchard Hill offers four programs that are specifically designed to a camper’s age and developmental level. The Verge, Roots, Surge, and Thrive programs all focus on encouraging campers to become involved in camp life by offering 15 activity periods of the course of 5-7 days. For campers attending the Thrive camp, a trip to Camelbeach Mountain Water park is also on the agenda. Child Evangelism Fellowship
Child Evangelism Fellowship is a Bible-centered organization composed of believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to disciple them in the Word of God. CEF has many different ministries for children, including the Good News Club (held during the school year at Blue Mountain Elementary East), 5-Day Club (sumner day program), Party Clubs (neighborhood get-togethers) and Good News Day Camps (action-packed weeks held in five different locations during June and July) . CMTS Ministries
Christian Missionary Technical Services, located in Bernville, PA, works behind the scenes to keep missionaries and other ministries operational by providing vehicles and mechanical support, technical equipment and specialized supplies and services. They offer a purchase car program, work project opportunities for skilled laborers, procurement of hospital, kitchen, office and shop equipment, short-term ministry trips to Mexico and Belize – plus CMTS has a clothing bank in addition to household goods, appliances and furniture. Jewel Women’s Center
Jewel Women’s Center (previously Real Options Pregnancy Center) is a Christ-centered ministry whose mission is to promote a culture of life within our society in order to serve people facing unplanned pregnancies and related sexual issues. Orwigsburg Food Pantry
The Orwigsburg Food Pantry, located in St. John’s UCC on Market Street, provides food boxes to individuals and families in need within our local communities. Samaritan’s Purse
As a Christian charity, Samaritan’s Purse shares the eternal hope and peace found only in Jesus with men, women, and children who are victims of war, poverty, disaster, disease, and famine. They are at work in more than 100 countries, addressing critical needs such as food, clean water, shelter, and medicine – and also help hurting people in the United States, including wounded U.S. soldiers and their spouses and homeowners devastated by natural disasters. Kimmels Church partners with Samaritan’s Purse every Christmas holiday in an outreach program that collects filled shoe boxes of toys, school supplies, and other items. Sandy Cove Ministries is a year round Christian conference center in North East, Maryland. Schuylkill Hope Center for Victims of Domestic Violence
Schuylkill Hope Center is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1983 to provide services to victims of domestic and sexual violence in Schuylkill County. In addition to assisting victims, Schuylkill Hope Center works to confront the societal issues that contribute to this problem. The center is motivated by the belief that all individuals are entitled to live free of the fear and pain caused by emotional and physical abuse. While the agency provides services to all individuals regardless of gender, we acknowledge that women and children are most vulnerable to this problem. Servants To All / My Father’s House Shelter
‘My Fathers House’ is a safe and caring environment that serves Schuylkill County by providing housing, material goods, and supportive services to homeless men and women striving to obtain sustainable independence. The center operates a Day Center at 4 South Centre Street in Pottsville that acts as the main hub of the program. They also offer an overnight facility at the United Presbyterian Church which provides 13 beds for men. Women guests are provided rooms in a local rooming house free of charge while they work to complete their goals with Case Managers at the Day Center.
